SWEET AND SPICY CAULIFLOWER




When it comes to snacks,I let my mind wonder through the cuisines I had from various lands. Ultimately, I end up cooking thats easiest.This is one of my favourites in vegetarian dishes and you got to try it to know why.....
INGREDIENTS
  • 1 cauliflower
  • 1 tbsp cornflour
  •  1 tsp chilli pwd
  • ½ tsp soya sauce
  • 2 shallots
  • 1 capsicum
  • 1 tsp honey
  • ½ tbsp chilli garlic sauce( available in all supermarkets)/ sweet and hot ketchup
  • 1 tsp ginger paste
  • 1 tsp finely sliced garlic
  • Chopped spring onions for garnish
  • Salt as per taste
  • ½ tsp five spice pwd·   
     Five spice pwd
    2 teaspoons of peppercorns, 3 star anise, ½ teaspoon cloves, 1 tsp cinnamon,½ tsp fennel

    Powder everything together finely and store in a container






      METHOD:



      1. Separate the cauliflower florets and cut off the tick stems.
      2. In a wok, pour some oil and sauté the florets till slightly brown.
      3. Add the cornflour and salt and sauté till the cornflour starts to turn crispy on the cauliflower.
      4. Saute sliced shallot and capsicum till shallots start to turn slightly brown.
      5. Add chillie pwd and sauté for 2 mins.
      6. Add ginger paste and garlics and sauté again till smel of raw ginger fades.
      7. Combine the soy sauce, sugar( if you are using honey add it in the end), chili-garlic sauce, ginger,5 spice pwd .
      8. Toss everything together and cook in medium flame without lid for 3 – 5 mins.
      9. Garnish with chopped spring onions and serve with rice or noodles.
